Cost of Iraq War
Richard Greene tries to justify the Iraq war in his column, “The inexplicable denial of the truth about Saddam’s WMD.”
George Tenet, CIA Director under George W. Bush, said in his book Center of the Storm that Iraq had no connection with 9-11.
In Bush’s book Decision Points, he admits there was no Iraq connection with 9-11, nor were there WMD. He justifies the war because Saddam was an evil dictator.
The war destroyed the stability of the Middle East. More than 4,000 Americans died; a half-million now have PTSD; more than 30,000 were wounded. There are 22 veteran suicides each day.
There are many evil dictators. I would hate to see the U.S. spend its resources to get rid of each one.
